The machete itself arrived sharpened and in good condition.I have to say that I was not careful at all with this and even used it to hack at roots that were in the soil which contained various sized rocks and pebbles. I managed to nick the edge of the blade - not so much chip it as to blunt the edge through. This was due to my abuse of the tool and I was able to re-sharpen it in short order.The blade of this machete is thin enough that it doesn't weigh a lot and because of this it's not the type of tool to use on heavy branches but is perfect for clearing undergrowth. If you need to hack through tree branches thicker than your thumb there are better choices.This is a perfect lightweight machete that you can swing all day without fatigue. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well made *by Y***L on February 8, 2018* Good quality blade, came sharp and arrived on time.
