The book series was highly recommended to me by a friend, so I ordered the GarageBand, Logic Remote and Logic Pro X books (in case I wanted to upgrade right away). You can save money on Amazon by ordering a whole set. I admit I was not sure about ordering all three books considering the higher prices but reading through them, I can say, they are worth every penny. It makes learning really easy.The books have extreme attention to detail, and the more advanced sections are very well explained with graphics that are helpful. For the typical GarageBand, aka casual music producer, like me, all the necessary background information is provided to explain and understand the functionality. But still, it doesn’t feel like its dumbed down for the beginner. Every little detail is in this book and can assist a beginner or a person with experience.I’m sure I will master GarageBand with the help of this well written book. Note that the pdf files are cheaper, but call me old fashioned, I like the feel of a printed book. The author seems to feel that a "cookbook" approach to a first project is incorrect, well he's wrong. An in-depth recitation on how to resize various windows is out of place for someone who is already mystified by the application. He does a good job on explaining the basics of music recording, and then jumps wholeheartedly into the minutiae of the various aspects of the program.
