Its antibacterial properties and compatibility with secondary dressings make it a trusted choice for fast, gentle, and effective wound care for adults and elderly patients. ## Description L-Mesitran Soft: L-Mesitran Soft contains: 40% medical grade honey, medical grade hypoal­ lergenic lanolin (Medilan), propylene glycol, PEG 4000 and vitamins C & E. When L-Mesitran is in contact with the wound, fluid is drawn from the sur­ rounding tissues, this creates a moist wound healing environment. This stimulates the wound healing process by facilitating autolysis of necrotic and devitalised material, aids wound bed preparation and promotes epi­ thelization. L-Mesitran: Has antibacterial properties. Dilutes gradually and can be removed easily as per local wound cleansing protocol. Prevents the secondary dressing adhering to the wound bed. Indications: Superficial and acute wounds e.g. cuts, abrasions and donor sites. Super­ ficial and partial thickness burns (1st & 2nd degree). Chronic wounds e.g. pressure ulcers, venous, arterial and diabetic ulcers. Fungating wounds (to help deodorise and debride). Colonised acute wounds and (postoperative) surgical wounds. Instructions for use: Tube: Remove the lid, clean the mouth of the tube and the top of the lid with an alcohol swab. Push the top of the lid into the foil seal that cov­ ers the nozzle, do not squeeze the tube at this time. Frequency of use: This depends upon the amount of exudate and the needs of the wound. Re-apply the product when it has dissolved(± once every 24-48 hours). Contraindications and constraints: No contraindications are known to date. Do not use on patients who are sensitive to the product or any of its components. Preventive measures and comments: Always consult a doctor for wound management advice. Do not use new products that are damaged or expired. Inspect and clean the wound according to local protocol. Due to autolytic debridement the wound may appear to increase in size after the first dressing changes. This is normal and occurs as the devitalised tissue is removed, preparing the wound bed for healing. In the event of intolerance to L-Mesitran or one of its components, re­move it using appropriate techniques and clean the area carefully. L-Mesitran is for single patient use, the product may only be re-used with the same patient. Always re-seal the product after use. After opening use the product within three months. Dispose of the product as per local protocol. Storage precautions: Store at room temperature between 5°C and 25°C (41°-77°F). Avoid direct sunlight and moisture.
