This machine recieves it's water via a thin tube under the sink that feeds into the back of the machine. The water is filtered as the water fills the internal cooling or heating tanks. I adore not having to struggle to load or change 5 or 3 gallon bottles of water. No bottle means no spilling when you first tip the bottle, no having a heavy bottle to carry over to the tank, or to and from the grocery store to pay to refil your bottle of water... This style water cooler also has helped my family become heathier...The ratio of soda drinking to water consumption has definently improved. We love this water tower, and expect it to have paid for itself within a few more months because of the much lowered soda pop budget.
