It has a nice full sound. I usually go for cajons with snares rather than strings, but this one surprised me with the quality sound it put out. It also comes with a built-in pad where most are just solid wood. This was a pleasant surprise. My only complaint isn't about the Cajon, and it's about the carrying bag. The case is almost too small.
