It doesn't matter if the sides, handles, and lids will not attract a magnet. It ONLY matters that the BOTTOM of the pot or pan is magnetic. Induction heats the bottom of the cookware only. The heat from the bottom is then transferred up the sides, handle, and lid...and the food. Most stainless steel pots now have a bottom that is aluminum sandwiched between the steel on the outside and the steel on the bottom of the pot. in steel.
