Also, be careful not to over-irrigate. In other words if you do not get all the wax out after several squirts, use more ear drops and try again in a day or two. The inside gunk is lube and is required. - I was a little worried when I ordered this because of some of the reviews mentioning it was nasty on the inside and even possibly used. Well, that inside goop is lubricant that is needed to provide proper suction. This unit uses a rubber O-ring to make a seal for the piston and that requires a lubricant. The manufacturer wanted to make sure it did not dry out so they put a bit more than needed and that's a good thing. If it bothers you just wipe it out but be sure to leave some on the rubber O-ring or it will not work well at all. Pryor to seeing this Syringe I had ordered one half the price that was virtually worthless but this one is the real deal. Don't waste your money on a cheap plastic one when you can get this one. The only negative was that it came with no directions. Sure the use is pretty evident but it wouldn't hurt to have a page talking about any hazards of use. It comes with two different tips but I have only used the rounded tip and would be a bit concerned using the more pointed tip. I do think you have to use care with either tip.
