Want to put 1 box and 2 sensors in a tight location.** A: For the price, why splice wires, the leads can be extended to 6 feet. What I would recommend is to place the sensor on a sheet of paper towel. Any moisture will wick up to the contacts. Also you can cover a bigger area where just a corner of the paper towel will transfer the liquid by capillary action to the contacts. **Q: is it easy to reset** A: To reset all you have to do is dry the leads and it will stop alarming. Never have to worry about batteries. If a Sump is involved maybe a very small UPS could be a solution(about $30). There is a mini ups on Amazon. You can get a 9v battery clip and wire up. Good 9V batteries aren't cheap either. Consider what repairs could cost. **Q: what is size of sensor** A: 2-1/2" X 1" X 1/8" plastic plate. there are 2 metal discs a little smaller than a dime fixed to that plate. There is a 10 feet long wire would up inside the case that attaches the sensor to the case. The case has 2 holes on the back to mount on wall if you want to do that. There are two mounting holes in the sensor plastic plate if you want to mount that, such as with any tiny screws you happen to have. The instructions say you can splice up to 100 feet of wire onto the 10 feet wire in order to have the alarm somewhere far away from where the sensors are placed. I own my home, and I do everything I can to protect it, and keep it and myself safe. I’ve had previous homes with water issues, and when I saw these I thought “ I’m buying one of these for every area where there is potential for water damage” Put one under any sink, behind every toilet, by your water heater, behind your washer, under your dishwasher and even I few placed strategically under the home where water lines run. Trust me, they are loud enough that you will hear them. They are quite small. (About the size of a pack of ciggies) and they use a 9v battery that will easily last 7-10 years. Just remember to change batteries out about every 5-7 years to be safe. They have multiple ways to use them. You can run the little cables to a specific place, or just set them on the surface under where water may go and your all set. To me, these are about as useful as smoke detectors if not more useful. Water can do a ton of damage if gone unchecked. I little drip can turn into you having to replace a floor, or worse.
