Right now we're using it by our back door, where we take the dog out, so we store the dog's leash and dog jacket, a towel to dry her paws, and husband's blanket hoodie he likes to wear when it's cold outside. Because of that, we probably open and shut lid at least 3-4 times a day, and the hinges seem be holding up just fine, but will update if anything changes.

It's gorgeous in person. Super easy to assemble; just screw in legs with allen wrench provided. It's sturdy to sit on and comfortable. Love it! As described. This is a matte black faux leather. I only had to put the legs on and the packed box was light enough for me to carry alone although it’s long, so you made need help due to the size. This is so perfect for my small space and the storage is great. I love that it stays open when needed. There are a couple of elastic bands in the storage space that held the legs and screws, Everything was packed carefully and no scratches or marks and came with super easy instructions. There was no weird smell and feels quite stable to sit on as a bench without feeling like it’s going to fall apart.
