They say it is less of an irritant than SLS, but it still is, and it can also be contaminated with a known carcinogen. I found it pretty strong smelling compared to the ECOS. I am going to return it unused because I do NOT want the SLES on mine or my family's skin. This is truly not a healthy, hypoallergenic alternative. Review: worth a try! - tried this product after trying another lesser known brand. I don't go for the top advertised ones as I feel their price reflect that. This product did as good as a job as the other one I tried and in at least everyday laundry, matched what my top name pod was doing. I only use a half sheet for normal loads and a double if doing comforters weight loads or work clothes. The scent is very mild and does not remain after washed which if fine by me but if your looking for something that is present in your clothes, this is not it. I got the magnolia to try..I would say it would be good for a linen or drawer scent if you like that kind of thing.
