I want some that are stronger than those Jiffy kits.** A: They are rather flimsy. They are not made of hard plastic or resin. I have a clear lightweight catch tray underneath. You need to use two hands to carry it. **Q: Are these bpa free** A: BPA is usually found in polycarbonate plastics. These could also be polystyrene, which leaches carcinogens into water and is banned for food products in many places. The manufacturer should put their name and the plastic type on the product. I am afraid to use these. **Q: With see through plastic tops?** A: No, they only come with the trays. No clear plastic tops. **Q: Is it possible to grow Wheatgrass or are the holes too big?** A: These are the tray we use for growing wheatgrass. They are perfect! We love the trays with holes for the drainage. You generally put the soaked seeds on top of soil or a growing mat so the holes won't be a problem. Many people use a "drip" tray under these trays to catch any drips (a tray like this but with no holes). They are super flimsy and will not last. They literally feel as if I bought them from the Dollar Store. I bought some from Bootstrap Farmer for $15 more than these, however, I can assure you those I think will be the last set I need.
