Review: I replaced my old Logitech security system with newer equipment over the 4th of July holiday last weekend, and knew I needed more than the 10 feet they had for each camera for a few locations. One in particular was going to be a test, farthest run from an outlet. So I got this one for that camera. Worked great. The camera plugged into it without issue, and I've had no problems with power to that unit. Plenty of length for me to run through my gutters to keep it out of sight the way I had the POE network cable going to the Logitech. Their reply: "it is 24W", guessing that means the wires are 24AWG. **Q: Will this work for a FTD exterior dome camera?** A: Yes, I literally just plugged it into an FTD camera to check. That is why I purchased it. **Q: What tools and material can be use to shorten the power cable so I can make my own length? Like how a cat5e is terminated.** A: I wouldn't cut this cable if your going to use outside. It would be hard to insulate it. plus the wires are so small it really hard to re-connect **Q: Do i need the sd card?** A: Sd card for what?
