I had it shaved down with a blade type shaver in a doctor's office but it came back. I used a blade type shaver a couple of time myself and it came back. I then bought this rasp and again used a blade type shaver and gently finished with this rasp. You don't even have to prep the skin like soaking and softening. Just go at it whenever the mood strikes and be done with it in about 5 ~ 10 min. **Q: does this work on wet feet** A: This is the kind of foot plane they use in the shops for professional pedicures... on WET feet or least feet that have soaked in warm water. I prefer using it on wet feet because the skin being scrubbed off doesn't fly all over the place like it does with dry feet. You just have to use common sense & not over do it... a nice smooth movement as opposed to a put all the elbow grease you can into it kind of movement. You will be stunned at how much dead skin comes off.
