It has 2 sets of LEDs and both sets are used in Study mode.*This lamp really does have 7 brightness levels and 7 light colors. It has three preset color buttons: Study(white with a warm tint), Reading(blueish), Relaxation(warm, near incandescent color). 7 brightness level buttons and a switch color button that you can press then use the brightness buttons to select from 7 light colors.*Base is weighted good enough to hold the lamp up in most of the positions you would be likely to use it in.*The hinges hold the lamp in any position, the lower hinge was lose when I got it, but it can be tightened with a screwdriver.*The lamp looks decent enough, not expensive, but not cheap, the two folding pieces are matte aluminum, the base is matte plastic and the hinges are glossy plastic. The matte plastic base shows finger prints but not as bad as glossy plastic would.Cons:*The Brightness range is limited, the max in Study mode is about 65 watt equivalent and min is about 50 watt equivalent, while the max in Reading and Relaxation is about 45 watt and the min about 30 watt.*The provided power adapter's cord is only 4 feet long, but any 12 volt power adapter should work, so you can replace it with another or use an extension.*The base is rectangular, so if you rotate or tilt the lamp the wrong way it can fall over.*The upper hinge seems seems somewhat fragile and it cannot be tightened with a screwdriver like the lower hinge*The lamp is advertised as 8 watt but it only drew 7 watt max on my Kill-A-Watt meter so if it does have 8 watts of LEDs in it they are not being maxed out, but the company may have done this to insure that the LEDs will last a long time. LEDs are very sensitive to too much current.Conclusion:This lamp has a few flaws and it does not have features like USB charging ports and timers, but it is a good lamp for the price, and turned out better then I expected so I rated it 5 stars. I like it so much that I have just ordered a second one, I will update this review if anything goes wrong with the lamps. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic addition to my office! *by T***N on April 19, 2020* This is a fantastic light! I needed one for my office desk and this was a great optionThe brightness and differing light temperatures is great. I can set it to the yellow-temp during the morning and evening, and I can set it to the brighter "reading" style (more white) during the day when I need to be on video calls.I like the ability to rotate the light almost 360 degrees so I can angle it off the wall or provide a different light experience.I wish it had a lip for my phone to sit on and keep to keep it upright, as well as a more powerful USB Port for at least 2.1 Amps, but that's alright. I tend to use wireless charging on my devices anyway, so the USB charging port is great for headphones or other plug n play charging items that don't need a lot of power. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice little lights *by C***A on April 8, 2016* Handsome matte black finish. Slim, sleek and stylish. The many ways the lamp arm can be adjusted - pitch, yaw, roll, tilt - led me to a configuration I hadn't originally thought of: having the lights (I bought 2, to sit on either end of my bed's headboard) facing sideways, out. So I get indirect light which bounces off the walls of the room. Nice. I wouldn't mind if the brightest setting were a little brighter, but all in all this is a very nice, inexpensive light that was delivered very quickly.
