From the floor to the top of the desk when it is laying flat, is about 3 ft at Max. I am 5'3" and it comes to my hip, at top hight. **Q: can the side tray be inverted so the cup holder is close on the right side? I paint, and need easy access to water** A: The large cup holder that is made to stay level even when the tabletop is tilted cannot be moved closer to the front, unfortunately.
