Review: Simple, Easy to use Dock! - This dock is a must-have for those looking for a simple, easy-to-use interface to connect their laptops to an external monitor. I must admit, I was on the fence about this one when it came to gauging the value I would get out of this, but I was proven wrong. It is designed well with good weight and build quality. Setup was relatively easy, and it was nice that they threw in a DisplayPort and HDMI cable in the box. It does not take up a lot of space on my desk and the clock feature is a nice touch. Note that the clock is only customizable after you install a firmware update via the Anker Dock Manager PC application, which you can download from the Anker website. The dial is another welcomed addtion as this is present on their Anker Prime Charger 250w. Maneuvering through the settings was a breeze. The device runs cool and does not heat up to such high temps. Anker has done a great job at managing temperatures across it's devices. There are plenty of ports for connectivity, including 3 front USB-C data/charging ports, a SD + TF card reader. The back ports include 1 DisplayPort, 2 HDMI ports, 2 USB-A 3.2 ports, 1 USB-A 2.0 port, an ethernet port, and your standard upstream data/charging port. Upstream charging to the device is max 140w (unfortunately my gaming laptop supports only 100w), and the connection was relatively simple. This device also supports PPS PD charging for Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy via the front 3 ports. You can also establish a data connection from your phone to your PC. For display, keep in mind that you need to download the Synaptics DisplayLink driver for your pc/laptop to output via DisplayPort to an external monitor. It is a relatively quick and simple download. Once the driver was installed, and I restarted my pc and reset the dock, the video display was seamless. I am currently outputting a resolution of 3440 x 1440 @240Hz with no stutter and no artifacts. This has improved my gaming setup tremendously, and I have not noticed any issues during hardcore gaming. The Anker Dock Manager application is a nice touch and allows you to see the multiple connections that you have on your setup. You can change from Mirroring to Extended display, even change the display direction if you have your monitor set up vertically. Refresh rate and resolution can also be customized. Overall, this is a solid addition to anyone's future laptop/desktop to monitor setup. Though there are other docks out there with more ports and features, the Anker Prime does a great job of incorporating functionality and simplicity for the everyday user.
Review: Revised to reflect Anker's warranty support - Review updates/revisions Sept 2025: For fun, I did a search of my desertcart purchase history and counted Anker products in the dozens. We have been a fan of them since the first started showing up on desertcart - better quality cords and chargers, great prices, and 100% zero fuss warranty support in the RARE intance we had an issue. And it was very rare in the first place. May 2024 I purchased this dock - intended to make it easier to use multiple monitors and also swap between work and home laptops, also use it for hardline access since wifi can wobble during the business day but plugged in never does. Started having issues with it in November 2024, six months after purchase. Contacted Anker Support. Had already done the normal type of trouble shooting - cords, connections, removing other pieces - no luck. Support that was once so fast and painless turned into multiple email exchanges, proof of purchase requirements, a picture of the SN, and eventually a label to mail it back ... with this bold text "Any replacement process will only commence after the inspection is completed and the contents of the package are verified. We strive to process all returns as quickly as possible, and we will keep you updated on the status of your request." Um ... ok ... but what am I supposed to do for the 1-2 weeks while you wait to get it (USPS label), plus a minimum of 5-7 business days (per the email) for replacement shipping (IF approved, because of course it's still not confirmed or promised). I'm missing a daily use product for 3-4 weeks based on Anker estimates, for a dock I paid $150 for less than a year ago. Bottom line: Anker support ain't what it used to be, and they will not be the default answer in my house anymore. Original headline: Worked perfectly on the first try - Anker stuff works! I have a MacBook Air (M3) and an older MacBook Pro (Intel chip) and getting them to consistently do multi-screen properly has been an ordeal ... until today! Went to website Anker listed on the dock sticker, downloaded DisplayLink drivers, plugged in, and voila - three separate screens all working perfectly. Swap cable from Air to Pro and back, three screens just WORKS. So happy to get rid of my old CalDigit thunderbolt unit that was theoretically doing that but was always finicky. Also using https://www.desertcart.com/dp/B0B54S58SX magnetic adaptors for USBC to make swapping between my Macs (plus my work MBAir) even easier.

## Features

It is recommended to plug the mouse/keyboard receiver into the 480Mbps USB A port. (Note: always use the included USB-C 3.2Gen 2 cable; other cables may cause issues.)

- Each Port Powers and Performs: Every USB-C port supports both charging and data transfer. Power your laptop with up to 140W via the upstream port, while each front USB-C port delivers 100W of high-speed charging.(The front USB-C ports do not support media display to connect USB C monitors such as portable monitors or Thunderbolt monitors. )

- What You Get: Anker Prime Docking Station (14-in-1, Triple Display, DisplayLink), USB-C to USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 cable for upstream port (3.3 ft, 10 Gbps), 6ft AC power cord, safety sheet with user manual QR code , 24-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Need Support? Go to Your Orders on desertcart, find this product, and click "Ask a Question." Our support team will assist within 24 working hours.
- Note: Due to DisplayLink driver limitations, DRM-protected streaming (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, etc.) may show a black screen while audio still plays. Fix for browser streaming: disable hardware acceleration in browser settings.

### ⭐ Premium Price, but the Main USB-C Port Failed After 3.5 Years
*by G***O on September 10, 2026*

I purchased this Anker 563 USB-C Docking Station in March 2023 for $249.99. It worked well with my Lenovo ThinkPad E14 for several years, but unfortunately the rear USB-C upstream port — the main port used to connect the dock to the laptop and provide charging — suddenly stopped working. I thoroughly tested the setup before concluding that the dock itself was the problem. My Lenovo charges perfectly when connected directly to its original USB-C charger, and the USB-C cable used with the dock also works correctly with other devices. I even left the docking station completely disconnected from power and all devices for about a week before testing it again, but the problem remained. This is particularly disappointing because this was a premium-priced docking station. I do not think a $250 dock should suffer a failure of its most important connection after only around three and a half years of normal use. The dock itself is not obsolete and would still fully meet my needs if the main USB-C connection were working. Having to potentially replace the entire unit because the primary laptop connection failed is frustrating and makes me question the long-term durability of this product. I purchased Anker because of its reputation for quality and reliability, so I expected better longevity from a product in this price range. I am currently contacting Anker support to see whether they are willing to provide a replacement or another reasonable solution. I will update this review depending on how Anker handles the issue.
