The battery life depends on your usage: if you shoot a lot of videos, it may only be a couple hours; if you listen to some music or make an occasional phone call, you might actually see that advertised 8 to 9 hours. I wish the camera would offer horizontal format, but I have cropped from the vertical format when necessary.
