This allows for a smooth and quiet rowing experience. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good value *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 9 April 2017* I thought I'd leave it a while before reviewing the rowing machine to give an informed opinion, rather than an instant impression.I used to run, used to go to the gym and generally tried to keep reasonably fit but without a great deal of enthusiasm. Apart from a tendency to walk where i had the opportunity the rest of my fitness activities fell away and I gained some weight and generally felt lethargic.Looking for a low impact form of all round exercise I came upon the JLL rowing machine and was impressed with the reviews, both here and elsewhere, but wondered what I'd actually get for what seemed a pretty low price. But, nothing ventured, nothing gained, I put in an order.The machine was delivered promptly and well before the estimated date. I had watched a YouTube video from JLL on how to assemble it and with that, and the enclosed instructions, it was put together in around 40 minutes. The fittings were in a well numbered blister pack so there was no doubting what went where. There was also a small, and probably, easily overlooked information sheet for the computer. The one tiny issue was that one of the knobs had part of it's plastic broken away. It had no effect on the machines usage and was more cosmetic, but a call to JLL had it replaced within a few days.The machine itself is solid and sturdy. The action is smooth and very quiet and, for a beginner like me, even on a low resistance level gives me a decent work out over 20 minutes to half an hour. Because of it's quietness I can entertain - or distract - myself listening to podcasts whilst I work out. I get off after exercise feeling it in my legs, abs, shoulders and arms and having built up a sweat. More importantly I don't dread doing it, which is progress.Two minor niggles. The foot straps could be more robust as occasionally one of my feet will slip out and the bolt holding in the left pedal needs tightening after every couple of work outs, but they are very minor and it would not stop recommending this machine to anyone.It's not a Concept 2 but it's 20% of the price and at what is being asked you really can't go wrong. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reasonable piece of kit for the money, but a couple niggles *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 28 April 2021* Ok, so big box arrives, opened and all pieces included. Took about 30 minutes to put together, due to one boo-boo by yours truly (Seat wrong way round). The overall feel is of a sturdy machine. Currently getting used to rowing again, so only using on level 4 which is generates quite a good workout for this old fart. So why a four? It's more like a 4.3, but a couple of niggles. Firstly, and I assume this happens to most rowers, there is movement when working out. True it's minimal and with a empty garage does not affect me, in a much smaller area, well who knows. Secondly and what was my biggest gripe, the foot restraints. Did not work, my size 8 feet kept slipping out. Now today, I am also a little slow at times, I noticed these could be moved, and hey much better. Although as they are velcro I do wonder about their longevity. Finally the panel, there is good info here, but the booklet mentions a scrolling option so it's not just distance and time permanently displayed, but strokes and other info, except I cannot get this to function. Yes at the end you can scroll through each readout, but I would prefer a rolling display. The final thing is you have to remove two screwed in bolts to fold the seat. I just leave as is and stand on it's end, to this stage not caused any issues.All in all I am enjoying using, noticed some noise from the pulley today, but nothing yet to worry about. At this time I can recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good piece of kit. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 27 July 2018* Wanted a rowing machine but wasn't prepared to pay the 1k for the concept 2 everyone recommends. I'm pleased with it, took about an hour to set up, i personally find the seat comfortable for the 45 min sessions i do, i have read some comments its too easy but its not meant to replicate weights, i have it on setting 5 and am using the British rowing beginner programme on their site and it certainly gets my bpm to the 70%+, at 10 i think its would give a good challenge to all but the very athletic.It can fold up to save space but i keep it on the floor to encourage use, and have stuck at it for the past month, this wasn't the case with jogging or the elliptical, for the overweight i thinks its more appealing and safer because the effort is spread over more body muscles so less chance of fatigue and strains on the legs. Anyway, ive enjoyed it more.The computer gives the basic info you need for training, stroke rate, distance, time, as well as calories burnt. It would be handy to have all the info on screen at the same time, but its okay. The machine can not be heard by my neighbour in the flat below, i would mildly noisy however, but you get used to it, and really this seems unavoidable. Put the radio on.Being my first rower i cant say its any better than the others, buts very competitively priced and does all that i require.
