Over 2 days of driving, the dry packs were still ice cold. You could use them for shipping chocolates, if the chocolates arrive in one or two days. **Q: Once they begin to defrost do they leave a pool of water behind?** A: Any frozen item left in the room air will cause condensation of the water in the air causing the water to cling to the cold item. The item appears to sweat water. That is just the moisture in the air clinging to the cold item. **Q: How do you store them in between uses. do you have to drain and sry them so they dont get moldy? do you re-soak before the next use?** A: No. Put it back in the freezer for future use or leave it in a box. **Q: How long will they stay cold if used for shipping purposes to keep soaps and butters from melting during summer months?** A: We used 3 ice packs in a shipment of whipped skin cream which took 3 days to go from a 90 degree location in FL to an 85 degree location in AZ. Upon arrival we were told the packs were no longer frozen but they and the skin cream were still cold.
