Monistat Powder Gel works to help keep it dry as well as lubricated at the same time, and to keep everything much more comfortable. But what I find works the very best on this sort of mild affliction is an application of the Monistat and then on top of it after a few seconds of allowing to dry, an application of Tinactin Foot Powder pressed into it from palm of hand. Being diligent with a couple of daily applications of both products, washing, thoroughly drying (final dry w/ hair dryer) and using NO moisturizer on the area before each application, and then another application after shower before bed, has worked better than anything else (including prescriptions) to keep the discomfort and the rash under control and from getting out of hand.
