The hardwood wood and the woodwork (beveling and chamfering) are of very good quality. The base is compact, and quite stable; a nice combination. The polygon shape in hardwood works well in many settings and with many decorative lamps. The dimmer functions well and is easily adjustable. The cord feed-through and cord flexibility accommodate positioning for best aesthetics. Exceptional design and very good manufacturing. On first unit purchased (last year), one very small shipping nick was easily addressed with a furniture wood-fill stick.
