**Q: I'm a bit confused, the package says that it has 2oz of Sodium Alginate, but it says it only weighs 1.6 oz in the shipping details, how is this.**
A: Hello- there is an error on the shipping details section. The package contains 2 ounces of sodium alginate.

**Q: Nowhere on the package there's usage suggestions. how much to use? say, to thicken a 24 oz. smoothie?**
A: hello- Try 1/4 teaspoon and adjust to desired consistency. Make sure you put it in the mixer prior to blending otherwise it will be very difficult to mix it in.

A: Hello-Yes, sodium alginate is made from seaweed.
