It is virtually impossible if roots were fine. Funny how people blame **Q: Are they thornless?** A: They have thorns, but not like roses. I find them to be prickly. There are a few thornless or nearly thornless varieties, but that would just encourage all the wildlife to eat my raspberries. I find the birds leave them alone as well, my thoughts are because they are not red. It's a great bush.
