The heater is very quiet but the amount and speed of heating is remarkable, again for such a small heater. I may be buying another one for my bedroom as well. Smelled like a magic marker. Our eyes were watering within 5 minutes of opening the box. But, the button on the bottom that engages it for safety, will not engage on the floor of my carpeted office. So I have had to put it on top of a ceramic coaster. If set on oscillate, this heater "jumps" and it will move off the coaster and it causes it to shut off. Also, the on and off switch on the top is an electronic "touch" and requires multiple touches before it reacts. Not fun when bending under the desk.
