Review: Super fun and excellent detail! - This model is just awesome! So much fun to build and very beautiful to look at. Amazing details and excellent material make for a fun building experience. The connections of the pieces to the metal sheet are very good - not too strong and not too weak - and allow taking out the parts pretty easily and without damaging them. The material is tolerant enough to allow fixing bending mistakes (I've had a few along the way). A goodly 20% of the parts require very fine motor skills and patience, and the round cylindrical parts probably require the right tool to achieve a smooth round shape (which I did not have). To build the model you will need tweezers and fine pliers - that's it. It took me about 3 hours to construct. Now the only question is where to display my masterpiece :-)

And the Star Destroyer just seemed perfect. Would they release it? Oh yes they did! And it's a really fine looking kit. About the same skill level as the Falcon and just as detailed. Very nice design and fun to build. Had no issues while building it. In fact, I had to buy two as it should make a really great gift (built, of course) Keep it up Fascinations!

**Q: I have an 11 year old who loves building nanoblocks, and I'm looking for the next thing. Anyone else have a younger child enjoy metal earth? or wait?**
A: Our nephew started building metal earth at age 11. With a little supervision and extra patience we are certain they will enjoy these models too!

**Q: Are tools required to build?**
A: Definitely. I use an X-Acto knife to cut the pieces from the sheet and a small set of needle-noise pliers to bend and twist the tabs for attaching the pieces. No glue is required. Some kits need you to bend pieces into cylinders and small dowels of various sizes to bend the metal around are helpful. Patience and care with the sharp edges is also required IMO. Hope this helps.

**Q: which set is the easiest one? I get frustrated easily**
A: Of the Star Wars sets, the Imperial Star Destroyer is relatively straight forward. All metal earth models are frustrating, just need a little patience.

This model is just awesome! So much fun to build and very beautiful to look at. Amazing details and excellent material make for a fun building experience. Bought this as a birthday gift for our 13 yo son who wanted a buildable paper model of this ship, but we thought this would be better, higher quality, and longer lasting. It looks like it would be really nice and very detailed, but I’m not sure it will ever get completed. It is VERY fiddly and time consuming and he just doesn’t have the patience for it. Maybe he just doesn’t enjoy this kind of tedious work. Make sure that whoever you are getting this for wants to really put some time into it and enjoys tiny fiddly parts.
