I like the Metallica James and Kirk Signature picks and those last for a long long run, this one's are really comfortable but for metal they run out really quickly. These are probably for slower and smoother guitar playing like jazz maybe. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It is extra heavy *by C***S on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on April 17, 2020* So I played cello for years got into a car accident and could not hold a bow. So I bought a cello banjo. That’s right and yes I play Bach on it. But I had never ever used a pick. So I bought some and after a bit the Dunlop extra heavy wins! My larger gauge strings have a consistent sound and I could not be more delighted. I did try the heavy, just a tad too much flex, ergo extra heavy. Thin picks were like straws on metal too limp no consistent sound at all. As a note I did try the 3 mm big stubby and while I loved the action the pick noise was noticeable so they did not make it I do however bet an electric bassist would go nuts over those. As to the cons, on the extra heavy I have none. I needed a consistent sound for baroque music and these provide it. While it would be unfair to make an overall statement for all instruments I will say that as I keep practicing these allow me to progress more quickly than other picks would. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great pick, but did not get the pick that's shown. Pick choices are personal, but i've always liked heavy picks for tone control. I discovered this exact pick in an assortment pack and after playing hundreds of other brands and materials this was like finding a "grail" pick. But I only had one, and I carried it around with me like a recovering addict carry's a 1 year chip. So I ordered more. But be careful what you order on Amazon though. The picks that I received are not the ones pictured. I received the free form font Dunlop X-H (see photo), not the one pictured. Color and feel are exactly the same but, there is a subtle difference between the picks. The one in the picture has a slightly more rounded tip. The free form font ones are rounded too, but more pointed. The subtle difference is not major but noticeable. I like the more rounded tip. I thought something was off so I went to the local guitar shop and I got some original font X-Heavy in white celluloid so I can find them easily when I drop them on floor in a dark room. I've added a photo so you can see the difference.
