The high performance Talica reel really needs to be paired with a high performance rod for optimal performance. The Carnage iii is just that. The rod is well built. The guides are awesome. The foreward grip is notched for a comfortable grip. The tip is kindda moderate to fast action. I love it. So vertical. You can troll, jig or bait fish off your boat with it. When the other three rods get here in September(sold out at desertcart awaiting new shipment) I have another Talica and two Penn VISX 16’s waiting to meet their new Carnage iii lovers. Anyway, these rods are very nice, boys. So go git-cha one and go hook some lip. Rated to 100lb braid and I was using using 80 with a reel that has a max drag of 32lbs. Didn’t high stick as butt of rod was parallel with the water.
