Review: Definitely a cut above, but still disposable - These things are beautifully made. I have a lot of shocks, intended for things like minibikes or similar. These are definitely some of the nicest I own. They are also fully adjustable. Now, one word of advice on shocks like these. They look great, out of the box. They are not generally serviceable, and I don't see any replacement seal kits. It's not that difficult to figure out why. They are the higher end of disposable when it comes to shocks. That does lead to the question of whether or not you should just spend some extra money and buy actually serviceable shocks. They are in kind of a strange position. They are more expensive than the really cheap, disposable shocks, but cheaper than the serviceable shocks. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I put this on the back of a custom minibike. Now, a word of warning. I know what I'm doing. I have bump stops and springs that will stop the bike from going out of control if this thing decides to give up the ghost in the middle of a ride. I would not use an off brand shock absorber without such things. I don't care how nice it seems out of the box. I wouldn't trust it with my safety. All that being said, it has survived the initial run on a minibike. I didn't feel it bottoming out. This is a smaller minibike though. It's not as small as a CT100, but it's not as big as a CT200. It's basically a minibike that is just large enough to fit a Predator 212 and an adult rider. The eyelets have not deformed. However, it is important that I say that I don't have 5,000 miles on them or anything close to it. I have had a couple nice days, where we took the bikes out. This shock absorber definitely blasted around the farm a good bit, and it was fine, thus far. It was a bit bouncy, but that's to be expected. It's not really meant for something with a 212cc gasoline engine on it. It's still good enough. I would not recommend doing what I'm doing unless you know what you are doing though. The simplest way I can put it is this. If there is no redundancy, don't use this.
Review: Good quality shock - I needed a shock, for my trail bike, because I was frustrated how my bike rode, in chunky terrain. I got the Soulvion brand, adjustable air spring coil, over shock absorber. Right out of the box, the quality surprised me, with solid aluminum construction and being that it wasn’t that expensive. Installation was smooth and took about an hour, which surprised me, since it was the first time, changing shocks. All I needed, was a basic torque wrench. 550 lbs per inch, is a seriously stiff spring rate, but it worked for me. The air pressure was about 210 PSI and was just okay on loose dirt, but really performed well on chunky terrain. If I could change this shock, it would be more sensitive, on loose dirt This shock is perfect for my weight and does not feel, like I’m on a pogo stick. For e-bike riders or trail riders, this is a competitive option, that is better, than the cost.
