- This kit has the beginner in mind! Learn the technique of coiled basketry! Promotes mindfulness!
- Kit makes one coiled basket about 2-1/2" wide by 1-1/2" tall or one flat coaster 3-1/2" diameter. This basket takes 2+ hours to make. You can expand the basket size with more materials.
- The kit comes in a bag containing: Fiber cord, raffia, tapestry needle and color instructions. Raffia is a natural fiber from palm trees. It has various widths and lengths and needs to be damp to work with. Plant materials are not exact and create unique results. You will need: scissors and water.
- Ages 8 and up, Adult Participation necessary for ages 12 and under (take breaks). This project creates the muscle memory necessary for developing the complex skill of basketmaking.
