If not does anyone know of any quality knives in the price range that do lock when shut?** A: It doesn’t lock when shut, however it won’t be coming open unexpectedly. It takes a nice nudge of the thumb in the right direction to open it. Not sure about knives that lock when they shut, I have over 200 knives in my collection and never seen one that locks shut. **Q: Is this knife made in the USA?** A: No. **Q: Is the knife blade double sided?** A: No it is not. Only one side of the blade is sharpened. It is a great knife though. **Q: Can the pocket clip be put on the opposite side??** A: Yes - there is a shield on the opposite side of the clip to allow for left and right handed carry. The shield can be switched using T-7 star driver. The knife may only be carried tip-up though. Great value for the money!
