The wheels are connected to the housing with a screw and cap, so the wheel cannot break off unless the whole part breaks. The wheels this part came with were not the correct size to fit my specific model of dishwasher (Amazon said it would), so I had to use the old wheels from the broken part being replaced. I also had to bore the holes in said wheels slightly wider to fit on this replacement part. Despite that difficulty, it is now installed and working great.
