It's the right size so that their feet can touch the ground and they feel comfortable "sitting" on the whale. That's usually the biggest fear for a baby that is just learning to properly sit. But the height is perfect and the bump on the seat helps support their hips and legs just enough for them to balance and feel safe. It's also very easy to put together. Only a few screws for the tail and feet; it even comes with it's own screwdriver. Very light, easy to clean, the middle white bowl is easy to take out and dump. The color is a neutral teal so it's perfect for either gender or gender neutral. Our baby has already peed in it already too in only a week. Easy to clean, small enough for a sink to wash. Plus it's cute enough to leave out in the open without it looking like a toilet is in the middle of the house.
