I tracked it down in 2000. It was available in a several traditional Chinese bakery shops in Chinatown in Boston, Around 2001, I could not find it, I found a worker at a bakery that spoke very good English. She told me that there was a very old man who had been making this in his kitchen for over 50 years, he had recently died, no one wanted to take over; at one time she said he made enough to supply all the Chinese restaurants in metropolitan Boston but as he got older, he was forced by age to cut way back until he was only making it irregularly for the bakeries in Chinatown and when he died, there was no one in his family to take over, nor was there anyone else who wanted to take over making and selling this wonderful treat which tasted of sesame and citrus fruit (probably orange) because it was difficult to make because it required skill and many steps to roast the sesame, zest the oranges, let them release their fragrant oils into the simple sugar syrup, gently reduce the syrup to the correct consistency, pour the syrup and let it harden into a firm jelly like consistency about one half inch thick, cut the candy into half inch cubes then press the toasted hulled sesame seeds into all four sides of the sweet. This man was beloved by all just like the candy that was his life's work. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally found it!! *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2019* This candy was a regular treat in Chinese restaurants in the New England area when I was a younger man. They would bring a piece per person when you were presented with your check. Not like they do today, present you with Fortune Cookies. I searched for about 7 years for this delight. Finally found it on Amazon. Have sent some to a friend who had assisted me in my quest. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Have been searching for this for a long time! *by T***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2017* This cow skin/leather candy is very similar to a soft sesame candy served after meals at Boston-area Chinese restaurants in the 1970s-1980s. This version is very thin and has much less fruit flavor (if at all? hard to say with the sesame taste) but is by far the closest thing to that candy I've had in decades.
