I've used it with a gas canister stove, a white gas stove , a wood stove and over an open fire with excellent results. If you do purchase it you might want to also buy a set of kid's plates Ikea sells, that fit perfectly inside that pan. I always stow a couple of those in there with a same-size titanium plate.
