I find that if my hair has a lot of product in or is slightly damp it will still leave a kink but not as bad as a usual elastic hair tie. Leaves a very slight mark on dry clean hair but barely noticeable. I've found that once used the bobbles become stretched and don't return to their original shape/size but do go back a bit if left out. Too expensive for a throw away product but three in a pack and can be used many times before lose shape too much. They are a little uncomfortable to sleep on until you get used to them.
