Review: Good little duplexer - Good little duplexer! I'm using it for a low-power mobile repeater, and it's working fine. Initial tuning out of the box was garbage (like only a -60 dB notch on the low side, though a -100 dB notch on the high side), but that didn't matter because I was going to tune it myself anyway. Tuning was straightforward with my HP 8714ES VNA, if a bit touchy. Breathe on the tuning screws while the jam nuts were loose and the null would shift a hundred kHz. Took a while to get it dialed in, and it was a challenge to tighten down the jam nuts without moving the notch, but again, there weren't any real surprises. All pretty standard stuff. See the attached photos for the post-tuning transmission as measurement by my VNA. Managed about a 90 dB notch and about a 1.5 dB insertion loss on both legs. Construction seems nice and solid.
Review: 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 - Absolutely, do not purchase this. If you attempt to modify it, you will not achieve an insertion loss of less than 10 to 15 dB, even with a 5 MHz split. While you can tune it, the insertion loss is the key factor. You would be better off using a dual antenna instead of buying one of these cheap, poor-quality duplexers. With such an insertion loss, your range is acceptable if your repeaters are high enough to say a couple of hundred feet in the air. And if you have a GP nine, which comes with 11.5 dB of gain on UHF, you’re still only looking at about 5 miles. I don’t even have to do the math; I can simply know that for every 1 dB increase in value, the sound doubles. Therefore, you definitely don’t want any insertion loss, which is practically impossible. I’ve seen things as low as .5 dB, but anything above two is a significant loss of range. So, 2 dB of sound would be 4 times more powerful than 0 dB. And if you’re looking for a reliable option, consider buying one of the BCD440 duplexers from Bridgecom. It’s true that you get what you pay for, but it’s worth the investment.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: You can configure it with these frequencies: low 462,725 / high 467,725.**
A: Thanks for your concern on this item. The item in Amazon warehouse was already set the frequency to 462MHz and 467MHz, and Amazon can not set it to other frequency and send to you.
But we can tune and ship this product from China to meet your requirement 462.725/467.725. Would you accept this solution? If yes, what you need just access
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B07FGFX6Q4/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new
Then choose the second one add to cart (Ships from China) to place an order to us. To speedup the delivery time, we will send them from Hong Kong Post Office, this will take 1-2 weeks usually.

**Q: Is this a booster**
A: This is not a booster or amplifier. This is a duplexer and really not a good one at that. It is used for a repeater that has both inputs for receive and transmit allowing for use with a single antenna. I would recommend a repeater with less than 50 watts output. The duplexer comes pre-tuned for the GMRS frequencies with 462.mhz as the transmit frequency and 467mhz for the receive. Please note: I would not use the duplexer in a facility that has a lot of other repeaters. The duplexer is a notch type duplexer and in area that has more repeaters, it’s best to have a pass/notch as it’s better for better rejection of unwanted frequencies.

**Q: What is the process for ordering the 50w duplexer tuned by you for low 462.575 / hi 467.575 ?**
A: Ordered the duplexer; it showed up in two days and in good condition (as opposed from ordering direct from China and taking 6 months (like the one it was replacing). Connected it up to a spectrum analyzer with a tracking generator, set the frequencies I wanted, and tuned the cavities by turning the tuning rods until I got the dip where I needed it. Changed the cables around to the other cavity set, and retuned for the other frequency. Made sure everything was locked down, and done.

If you don't have a spectrum analyzer, you can do the same with a VNA.

**Q: I'm setting up a gmrs repeater on one of the gmrs frequencies. is it required to tune on exact frequency?**
A: Yes, need to tune it to exact low/hig frequencies to meet you requirement. The item in Amazon warehouse was already set the frequency to 462MHz and 467MHz, and Amazon can not set it to other frequency. But we can tune and ship this product from China to meet your requirement. We need two business days to tune it. To speedup the delivery, we will ship it by DHL and delivery time is just around one week usually but the price is 30USD more than the default frequency unit in Amazon warehouse. Just access

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality at this price range.

So far so good, I have seen reviews that have not been very positive but during testing I have found that the one I have received works very well right out of the box. I am using a Ra87 repeater setup and the SWR is coming in at 1.02 on the low end and 1.05 on the high end and the 40 watt radio is coming out of the duplexer at 24 watts, so I am very happy with the one I received, I am about to purchase the 30 watt version to use with a bug out five watt hand held repeater setup. I would recommend at least giving them a try especially if you are on a tight budget.
