A: No, it is not fireproof.

**Q: Will the coins stay in the trays if the box is tipped or turned upside down?**
A: No, that wasn't the case with me. Once I closed the box, coins went all over the place. There's nothing directly covering the coin trays to keep them from falling out / commingling when carried sideways or upside down. I would have ordered a different box with coin tray cover if I had I known.
