The instruction sheet will tell you what paint colors and tools you'll need. But it doesn't require anthing special. Normal modeling tools suffice. A hobby knife and scissors for the decals. Then just paint brushes and paint. This is an awesome model. It's been one of my favorite bikes to build. It does also have a an upgrade kit you can purchas that will give you a more realistic set of front forks, rear spring and rear shock. They are anadize aluminum and look great! You'll probably see it in the section at the bottom of the page for "people who purchased this also bought".
