Purchased with intent to give to a friend. The size small was good, at 5'5" 115lbs, both top and bottom close fitting, as they should be. There's sufficient room for any movements, comfortable, looks good. The top of pants rests about 4 inches beneath my waist. I do have a long torso. The low waistline doesn't work for me, but the intended giftee has much narrower, smaller hips, and the hip-hugger waist might be just fine for her. The white is perfect. The lengths of top and bottom are ideal, top stops at bottom of hips. The neckline is lower than crew and looks very nice. We both found them soft & warm & and the generous gusset in pants prevents stress on the crotch area during movement! I bought Violet last year too but returned it because top & bottom packaged as a set didn't quite match in color. The bottoms were noticeably lighter/slightly bluer (maybe from 2 different dye lots?). I'm sending them back in hopes of getting a set with the color matched properly. I ordered the Violet again this year and was happy to find that this time the top & bottom color matched exactly. I also bought a smaller size in the blue for a friend. These are very effective for layering and opaque enough to use as outerwear also. These are medium thickness in my opinion, thicker than synthetics or silk, but thinner than fleece. Maybe similar thickness to Icebreaker or Smartwool but way softer. Love the bright blue color, excellent warmth. Size is at the low end of the range, and they were a little too tight and very long (5’4” 180lb, size L ordered). Only real problem was the silver label was in an odd place (top and bottom) and would get stuck against my skin at times and feel itchy.
