But the top of the boots are too tight to leave them on her any lonher than necessary. I wouldn't recommend them for your purposes. **Q: Has anyone bought these in phoenix, az where the summers are super hot? we have a 4 mth goldendoodle.** A: I have used these in Southern California on triple digit days and in the 90's on asphalt, sidewalks, and sand. They do for precious paws on hot surfaces what a good pair of rubber gloves do for making scalding water tolerable on ones hands. They are durable. We've worn them on stone, gravel, sand, rock, etc. Also great to insulate and protect in the cold, rain, ice, and snow. Keeps pesticides, fertilizers, debris, germs, and allergens off paws. They are lightly powdered inside. Due to moisture from paws, after a few uses, to keep paws comfy, sprinkle a bit of baby powder in each. Also, each package comes with 3 sets. Each set is usually good for at least a few uses or more. After awhile, they will stretch out around the ankle area and so will come off while wearing. They're usually in perfect condition otherwise. They look like balloons, but are cute on, and do an excellent job of protecting paws. They are intuitive for dogs to walk in, because they stay in place, and dogs can feel the ground below, and have good traction with them on. Just be careful if walking your dog on smooth surfaces that are wet or when jumping up wet running boards of a vehicle, as they will be slick on those surfaces when wet. Also, as dogs regulate their temps by panting, and through their paw pads, and these are non-porous, leave on for very brief potty-poo walks in high temps, and around an hour or so otherwise. Of course, make sure to take water with you on even brief walks in high temps.
