We had assumed that this was just down to being very old plaster and the plastered advised waited a few months before firing up the stove to ensure the new plaster was totally dried out. The plaster eventually blew again, after a bit of research we came across this heatproof plater. . We removed the plaster directly behind the multi-fuels stove again out to around 20-30cm (8-12 inches) beyond and had this plastered again with VITCAS Heat Resistant Plaster. The stove wasn't removed, so it made it a bit trickier for the plasterer to work, but he did an excellent job and the plaster has held firm ever since. It's painted to match the rest of the plastered wall.
