They are larger than the picture would have you believe. If you are wearing a sweater with a boat collar, they extend far enough over your shoulders for coverage. Similarly, if you are wearing a V-Neck sweater, it extends far enough down to cover without showing. The material is thick enough to lay flat and not bunch or move.Also, it literally reaches all the way down to my bra and can be tucked in, I am a smaller cup size though, so larger endowed women may not be able to do this. The stitching is very well done, I can stretch, pull and tug at them and there are no loose strings or any damage to the product. I also really like that the turtle neck is long enough to pull up and cover my nose, mouth and earlobes if needed. I severely overpacked, but this dickey was not the issue! Bought the black one for a cruise to Alaska in July.
