I bought it to do tiger wraps. So I made a three-piece base to mount to with a for spool tensioner. And it seemed to do the job just fine it comes with the two tensioners. I hope that helps you **Q: Can I use this to wrap salt water conventional rods with up to 2” butt caps?** A: I don't have one that size to try, but I was able to place a 2" O.D. pipe into the chuck. The chuck is a disk with 6 long screws driven into it in a circle, then three O-rings are used, each one looped around a pair of the screws that are directly across the circle from each other. It's fairly simple to rig up a different type or size of chuck if that doesn't suit you.
