Whilst it might be true there is something in place and a button on the remote, I tested this in my music studio under various conditions and many different tones from single kick-drum to full songs, it was more like coincidence that it would react on a beat or in time.However, all of this was expected given the low price and that being said I want to rate this much higher but unfortunately it only lasted about 3 weeks or roughly 20 times it was turned on, running for no more than 20 minutes.
