This is an important and useful book. By placing many leading researchers in the field of early childhood mental health together in one place, this book offers an excellent overview of this growing field. The chapters are organized in a fashion that makes the material highly accessible- offering both the major points in outline form as well as more in-depth text. A wealth of valuable material!

I've recommended this book to all of my colleagues, and am currently exploring it chapter-by-chapter with other infant mental health colleagues. It is THE text for understanding infant mental health and the theoretical and practical underpinnings of the field. This is a must-read for any professional working with children in any capacity. It is rich with information.

Concise chapters yet full of critical concepts in understanding infant mental health. I am a fellow in the Napa program (which this book is based on) and reading this is recommended for those who want the Cliff Notes version of our program--yet without compromising the content.
