But I needn't have worried, there was an abundant crop, and when I'd picked those, more came along. Altogether I reckon I had about 6 crops from this kit. And they tasted wonderful! The kit came as a plastic box, already filled with soil and mushroom spores (spores? Is that the right word?) so all I had to do was take it out of its wrapper, water it a bit, and off it went. I don't think it would be suitable to buy in advance, as the mushrooms were already just showing their heads when I got it. So if you're buying it as a present for someone, get it as close to the present giving date as possible. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent value for money *by P***S on 7 June 2018* I really like this product for several reasons. It is a useful size and can be put almost anywhere. The container is water-tight, so nothing can leak onto a surface. There is a plastic bag that covers the crop, keeps in the moisture and guards against the deadly mushroom fly. This was a present for someone who wanted to know more about mushrooms. It was well received and made some very interesting moments watching the mushrooms grow. The mushrooms are good to eat, too. Still pucking mushrooms so not sure how long it will go on producing.
