To prevent premature wear and stretch, soak the chain overnight in 90-weight (gear oil) before installing. Your guide bar will appreciate it as well. Remove the carton paper from the package, invert it and add the oil until it covers the chain. It's so easy, even I can do it. We're running a Husky 353 non-cat for weekend warrior firewood cutting. We felled, limbed and bucked three cords of oak, maple and sweetgum with this chain before the chips started getting smaller. I was surprised by how much work this chain will do before needing an appointment with a file. Even then, a simple touchup does the job.
