The cards are high quality and laminated, with silver edges. Overall quite big cards, slippery and a tad hard to shuffle...I just had to break it into multiple stacks and mix em up. The imagery feels very art deco in its illustration and use of colors... gorgeous lavenders, pinks and greens. There is a departure from some of the traditional iconic arcana such as the Magician being a woman, there is a Hanged 'Wo'man, as well as Pages are girls and are called Princesses. The cards seem inclusive of feminine qualities in a way it can be considered a feminist deck as well. Some of the arcana cards such as Judgement and Hierophant are abstract geometric images and not the traditional masculine ones found in Rider Waite. This is interesting because these can be seen as concepts instead of an association with a gender or an astrological sign. This is a positive and joyful deck and it does not have much of the negative imagery of traditional tarot. Many of the cards and ideas are presented in a fresh, new, minimalist and abstract (dare I say, cosmic) way. After a first bout of admiring them, I found there is a mystery to the imagery and illustrations. The artist and creator has combined so many visuals, colors and concepts it will take time to unpack it all.
