Review: A concise version of Peter Addymans marvellous Gazetteer showing development of York - I loved it Was aware of this being started when I was a student in York in 70sand it became virtually a lifetimes work for Peter I used to chat about it with my tutors at St John’s and fellow students and put in an order pre publication for the full volume V York edition( 5 because others had researched other historic English cities). The concise map is an ideal gift for anyone studying at York and will hopefully inspire further interest in the original work.

I loved it Was aware of this being started when I was a student in York in 70sand it became virtually a lifetimes work for Peter I used to chat about it with my tutors at St John’s and fellow students and put in an order pre publication for the full volume V York edition( 5 because others had researched other historic English cities). The concise map is an ideal gift for anyone studying at York and will hopefully inspire further interest in the original work.
