I have 5 doors** A: I used this oil for my staircase which consisted of 22 spindles 4 uel posts and about 20 foot of hand rail. I used 2 coats and had almost half the tin left. I used a lint free cloth to apply it as recommended by the person who supplied the stair case. The oil dries super quick also. This oil gives wood a brilliant finish. You should have plenty of oil for 5 doors. **Q: Can I use this on oak stairs?** A: I’ve used it successfully on my oak floorboards and American walnut stair treads. Bit expensive, but it was very easy to turn an old wood windowcill into a thing of beauty. Can be applied in thin coats with soft brush or lint free cloth. I prefer brush. Light sanding between coats. Dries in about 5 hours. 5 coats gave me a highly professional looking deep shine finish, with no brush marks. Almost like it had been sprayed. Excellent product and a little goes a long way.
